"Canoe Float Trip,
Frequently Heard Comments" |
| On the river with Ozark
River Company. Just to
please… |
|
| Surely you have heard some of these on your last paddle
trip on the river! It might
bring back a memory or two, or make you want to go with your friends
again At least we hope it brings a laugh or two. There is a language understood by most everyone at campfires and on
the float trips on the river. We
hope you enjoy… |
- Paddling
the river, bloop, down he goes! Bloop,
up he comes! “Uh oh, where
are his glasses…”
- “My
ligher’s wet. Have you got one?”
- “Oh
great! My
wallet is soaked!”
- “Who
brought the toilet paper?”
- “Uh,
oh, I picked up the wrong Dry Bag. They
were all the same color!”
- “Did
you get the bread out of the back of the truck?”
- “Has
anyone have any extra sunglasses?”
- Seen
digging through the cooler, “Who’s bright idea was it to bring ice
cream bars?”
- “I
can drink water from the ice in the cooler… can’t I?”
- “Uh
oh. My shoe is stuck in the
sand. It’s GONE!”
- “I
broke my paddle!” Now
what?!”
|
|
| |
- Looking
around the camp fire after dinner, with a flashlight, “Wow! Raccoon
eyes everywhere. All around us! Look!”
- “Darn
Batteries! My light’s
dead. How many hours am I
supposed to get on each one of these? One, half?!”
- Thinking
to yourself at night, everyone else asleep. “…it sounds like a
snoring orchestra…
|
- Second
day, heard coming out of a tent on a cold morning, “Is there any
coffee yet?”
- Also
hollered out of a tent on a cold morning, “ITS COLD!”
- “I spilled in the easiest part of the
river!” “What
happened?” “I looked
back at you!”
- “Is
this the beach we are going to stop at?”
- “Everybody
turn your heads!”
- “It wasn’t my fault! It was your fault! If
you would have just listened to me…”
- “Where
are we? How far have we
gone? Are we close yet?”
- “Yes,
I hear that rapid up ahead? Is
this the big one?”
- “Where is Joe?” “He is way back there.” “He
can’t be! He has the
cooler!” “He should be
with us!” “What is he
doing, running off?!”
- “Are
they in front of us or behind us?”
- After
a long trip, “I am tired of paddling! My butt hurts!” (Take
that as a hint…)
- The
outfitter waiting for the renter and looking at his watch, “Where are
they?”
- After every trip, “Man, I’m hungry!”
