This is an Old Town Carlisle brand Ash Wood Framed folding seat backs! This is the back support most folks request when outfitting wood framed seats. These are not made to fit the molded plastic seats that are found on the discovery boats, rather the wood framed seats commonly found on many Old Town canoes, primarily the Royalex boats. These are hand crafted just the way the seats are, starting with fine ash wood, cut and sanded to a fine finish and then lightly stained and sealed for a natural blond ash wood color look. The webbing is tough and durable, and re-stringable. Mounting hardware is included, as you will need to drill and screw it in place. These seat backs fold down when not in use, and with a boat strap around them will hold them out of the way while you "car top" your canoe to your favorite tripping put in! Kick back, relax, enjoy the day for sure...
Canoe Ash Framed Seat Mounting Tip! - If you have an Old Town Canoe with Ash framed seats, whether they are cane or web construction in the seat, these should fit just fine. We have ran into issues with canoes that have support tubes under the seat such as the Predator SS150, as the tubes that support the seat are in the way of the front cross piece on the seat base that goes under the seat. One would have to remove such tube for installation, then the tube can be put back on. These come with mounting hardware. Any fit questions, we will sure get out our tape measure if you need us to.
