This is an Old Town Carlisle brand Kevlar skid plate kit. It is complete with resin, hardener, two each of the two inch wide strips of Kevlar cloth to protect the bow and stern edges of the canoe from damage in use! This Kevlar skid plate kit works for Old Town poly or ABS type boat materials including Royalex and Polylink3 construction. This does not typically include or use color pigment. Kevlar has gone up this year hasn't it! Kevlar is used in the military as well as canoes and outdoor apparel, and is in high demand. The price jump this year has sure reflected it! Canoe Repair Tip! - It has the resin and hardener along with Kevlar cloth for lay-up. It works very similar to a fiberglass in the way it is applied, complete with the things necessary to put it on. There is a little skill involved in applying this material, so if you know anyone that has done fiberglass type repairs, they may be able to help you. A little tip, get some pigment from your local body shop, a little colored powder, a pretty skid plate that matches your canoe! (Old Town pigment kits will not have enough for skid plates. there is only a small amount in them for repair kits.)
