This is an Old Town Carlisle brand Dry Bag. These are great bags to keep your gear, supplies and valuables dry. These dry bags are constructed of heavy duty PVC, with a fold down top with a rigid strip on one side of the bag that helps with the seal when folded, that is secured with a good quality squeeze snap buckle. There is also a loop for clipping on a "carabiner" or climbers clasp to secure your dry bag to your boat or attach things to the outside of the bag. A transparent viewing panel allows for quick visual reference of contents. Available in 10, 15, or 25 liter bags. Dry Bag Packing Tips! - There are many schools of thought to pack items in a kayak for a long trip, as space is much more limited than a canoe. Think like a backpacker in your gear keeping items small. See our website for our section on how to pack a kayak for more detailed information. We recommend large bags that can line the kayak or to maximize the space that you can fill. We line the boat first with the dry bag, then either through the cockpit or hatch opening whichever you have, stuff the bag lined boat! This will allow for usage of the entire stern bulkhead storage area. Leave the area below the hatch for a soft side cooler, use your smaller bags on the deck rigging on the top of the kayak for frequent use items, and you are ready for a multi day adventure! Don't count on the bulkheads for dryness, no matter what brand of boat you have! We know with experience with several manufacturers over the years. No one hatch area is perfectly dry!
