Flat Creek and Table Rock Lake Arm Clean Up – May 3rd, Extended through May 10th!

• When:  Saturday, May 3 - 10, 2008, Now extended all week through Sat. May 10th! Help Clean up, feel good about it, Table Rock Lake and Come Paddle! We need more help!
  
• Why: Resulting concentrated debris from high water to be picked up in the Flat Creek Watershed and headwaters of Table Rock Lake.  The Table Rock Lake Water Quality Inc, “Area Wide Clean up” has been postponed due to high water, but PaddlingCenter.com will continue with the May 3rd schedule date. 

The Flat Creek Arm and river clean up has been extended all week through Saturday, May 10th.  We have dumpster resources now, trash bags, and much help is needed!  The Flat Creek also flooded with the Rising Table Rock Lake Levels in the last few weeks, carrying a lot of debris, bottles, cans, and paper trash down the river and deposited it in the headwaters of Table Rock Lake.  We have a good opportunity from canoe, kayak, motor boat, wading, and land to pick up the trash, some in concentrated areas.  Bring your canoe or kayak, motor boat, or you can clean from shore.  Also bring waders, sunglasses, sun screen, and your lunch.  You will get dirty, for the benefit of all.


Table Rock Lake Water Quality, Inc. provided a trash dumpster, drinking water, grain bars, and gloves.  The dumpster is now located at the south side of the Highway 173 Bridge, across from PaddlingCenter.com.  A second dumping location is located high under the bridge at the EE Highway / Flat Creek Bridge at the Missouri Department of Conservation access.   Shuttle rides, canoeists and kayakers, motor boat, and walking support are needed.  We have an opportunity to let folks participate that had planned on the lake wide clean up, as our area at the top of the watershed is in bad need now and we now have ways of getting to the areas.  Any level of participation will affect the entire lake and water quality for some time.
Hot Dogs and soft drinks will be available for the Cleaning Volunteers by Kayakers Bistro Restaurant located within the PaddlingCenter.com facility while they last.  For additional questions or map directions, go to PaddlingCenter.com or call 417-538-4848
