Table Rock Lake Fishing Report by Bassman Dan Boyer
Table Rock Lake Fishing Report–August 25, 2009
LAKE LEVEL 916.4 FT. Water temperature varies from 79 to 81 degrees. Fishing has been hot and cold just like the recent weather . Cool nights has created some really good top water fishing for large mouth bass on points in mouths of creeks and coves early in the morning .The only draw back is it only lasts for about 30 to 45 minutes. So you have to get out there real early, but the pay off is the bass are averaging 3 to 6 lbs. That’s enough to get me up before the crack of dawn.
White bass have been schooling also early and some times if it’s cloudy they will be chasing shad all day. Top water baits and spoons in white and chartreuse will put them in the boat. Once the sun comes up it’s time to break out the drop shot with 6 and 8 lb test. You can use a drop shot worm or a night crawler. the fish are shallow for this time of year at 15 to 25 ft on main lake points.
Occasionally you’ll catch a big channel or flat head catch fish on the night crawler or while jigging a spoon under the whites
Pictured is 10 yr old Zach who had a banner of a day using a drop shot night crawler while on a guide trip with myself and his grandfather. This is just 1 of numerous bass Zack caught that day. Oh and by the way Zack was up and at em just about daybreak.
