Table Rock Lake Fishing Report
September 29, 2009
Lake level is up from last report to 917 due to recent rains. The water temp is still in the low 70’s slightly warmer than normal for this time of year.Fishing up the river arms has slowed down but an occasional big bass can be caught as evident in this picture. The bass that I have caught recently up the river are 10 to 12 ft deep on jigs.
Down lake from Aunt’s Creek area to the damn the bite is stronger and the white bass are going crazy on cloudy days. Bass down lake are being caught on green pumpkin tubes and foot ball jigs. Drop shot rigs are producing in 25 to 30 ft on main lake points.
White bass are still you best pursuit from mid lake to the damn. Follow the sea gulls when you see them diving you know the shad are there and the white bass right under them. Pop R’s and ‘Hazie Dazie’ jigging spoons will help fill up your live well.
Some nice catfish can be caught below these shad as I caught 2 nice flat head and 1 channel in the past week on jigs.
It may be a little slow right now but remember what Frank Sinatra said ,” the best is yet to come”.
