(Click on picture for close up!) Kayak Packing Note: Many items can be bagged or kitted with small nylon bags for organization. Here is a picture of the gear broke out. You can left click copy, and paste this picture on your jpg editor and enlarge to help see detail. Sorry if it is not perfectly clear as we wanted. We do suggest adding a purifier instead of a filter bottle, due to water quality in your area. Also purifier tablets are suggested. The small black bag next to the tent and sleeping bag is an inflatable air mattress by Big Agnes, packs down great! |

(Land backpack list, 27#, Continued) 10 inch folding pruning saw Small binoculars, (optional) Small cotton wash cloth, use as towel and wash cloth. Solar water bottle (black) with showerhead. You can use this for any water collecting, as well as heating, and folds up pretty small. Collapsible fishing pole, reel, and tiny lure case. (Optional) Headlamp flashlight. It is better than a regular flashlight, because it frees up the operator’s hands. Lightweight waterproof jacket with hood and pants, jacket, and one change of clothes if needed. Extra socks are suggested. Think layers not heavy clothes. Hat. Gloves. Food, none pictured. Think dry. Dehydrated food is excellent! Wet food weighs a lot. Food is another subject. Plan each meal, the best you can, and utilize dry packaged foods.

(Click on picture for close up!) Pictured above is the large dry bag shoved up to the back of the seat. Pack larger and heavy items here like: tent, sleeping bag, small bags of gear, etcetera. The air is let out and bag is folded and buckled at the edge of the storage opening. Excess bag can be laid down or folded up, and cooler set in from the top. See cooler inserted on next page. |
